New 95 point 2019 vintage is here!
The Myattsfield Durif is definitely for someone who likes a big, bold Shiraz.
A full-bodied dry red, with a beautiful intensity of blackberry & Plum.
Durif ( Petite Syrah / Shiraz) is a high tannin wine, and has 2-3 times more antioxidants than lighter bodied red's so this beautiful wine can cellar for 10 years or more, but it's so good we doubt you can resist keeping it for that long!
Partners in Wine WA notes : Never heard of a Durif ? Give it a go. It's a bold , full bodied drop. This is one of my favourites. Myattsfield was the first winery in Australia to plant a Durif, and I am sure glad they did!
95 Points – Nick Butler, The Real Review
Wine Companion rating - Wines of Gold medal level.
Erin Larkin - A flamboyantly full-bodied wine, with a consistent drive and evolution of flavour over the palate; morphing from black cherries laced with bitter chocolate, through to blood plum, salted licorice and a host of other flavours. The tannins are plump and chewy and while very present, they provide structure and direction. The alcohol is fully entrenched and as such, imperceptible.
