This Fraser Gallop Estate 2018 Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon is beautiful and dark with crimson hues. Blackberry and char-grilled meats with smoky toasty oak aromas, quite similar to many Bordeaux Cabernets in profile. It is a medium-bodied wine with a succulent fleshy mid-palate with flavours of blackberry and red currants with hints of Nori seaweed and bay leaf and lapsang tea. Layers of flavours wash over the mouth but also words like elegance and finesse and complexity are evoked when tasting this wine. The tannins are soft and supple.
The 2018 vintage is one of the best ever produced!

86/6/4/3/1% cabernet sauvignon/petit verdot/malbec/merlot/cabernet franc. Reaching heights of near perfection, '18 was a vintage responsible for wines just like this. Supple intensity, concentration of flavour without a gram of weight, the length of flavour possessed only by very healthy, perfectly ripe and balanced grapes. What a gloriously seamless wine, continuing the proud legacy of Parterre.
