The new 2021 vintage of the Lancaster Wissanger (GSM) is bursting with luscious ripe red berry fruit with an edge of spice.
On the nose it's reasonably light, with red berries and a hint of white spice.
The palate brings soft, spiced berry flavours and a round mouthfeel. The shiraz bolsters the mid palate but it's still on the lighter side.
Wissanger was the name of the vineyard under which the Taylor family operated a successful viticultural enterprise during the 1900’s. In 2002 the vineyard was purchased by the Lancaster Family. Made from selected hand picked fruit from Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro ( Mourvedre)
Our tasting notes: Light and fruity on the nose, hints of white pepper draw you in with what is to come when you taste it. Plenty of red berries up front, with a peppery bite. Absolutely delightful!
