Vineyard & Winemaking:

Sourced from the cool climate Pemberton region, the 10 Chains Shiraz is 100% estate-grown, ensuring premium fruit from vines located near the Karri Forest. The cooler temperatures and longer growing seasons allow the grapes to ripen slowly, resulting in a wine with great depth, balance, and elegance. Traditional winemaking methods are employed to preserve the purity of the fruit while enhancing the wine’s complexity.

• Cellaring: Best enjoyed now, but can be cellared for up to 3-5 years for additional complexity.

• Ideal Serving Temperature: 16-18°C
  Serve at a slightly chilled temperature to enhance its vibrant fruit character and maintain a smooth finish.

10 CHAINS is a family-owned and operated vineyard nestled amidst the majestic Karri forests of the Pemberton Wine Region. Kate and Shaun Woods own and run 10 CHAINS, along with help from family and close friends.  It is such a beautiful part of Australia with such amazing grape-growing credentials. There is a real passionate about what is produced. 

The wines are currently made under contract by Michael Ng and his talented team at Silkwood Wines, Pemberton.

Why the name 10 Chains?
There is a strong sense of heritage in the Pemberton and Northcliffe regions of the South West of Western Australia. The original “Group Settlement 123” map, drawn in 1924, shows the land on which our vineyard now stands. It contains the scale of : “10 Chains to an inch”, hence where our name is derived from.
