Deep Woods Estate Rosé

A mild spring at the start of the growing season gave way to a dry early summer, creating ideal growing conditions. Despite facing challenges from several summer rainfall events later in the season, the viticultural team managed the situation with great care. Their meticulous attention to detail resulted in fruit that produced expressive, flavourful wines.

The 2021 Deep Woods Estate Rosé is crafted exclusively from Margaret River fruit and is designed to sit alongside the very best wines from Deep Woods Estate. The aim was to create a contemporary style of rosé—nuanced and delicate yet full-flavoured.

Tempranillo and Shiraz were sourced from vineyards in the Yallingup Hills, and slow, carefully managed ferments allowed for a rosé of great character and expression. The wine was also blended with a small portion of hand-picked, barrel-fermented Vermentino for added texture and complexity.

It showcases a pale salmon pink colour with intensely floral aromas, perfumed with vibrant ripe strawberries. On the palate, wild strawberries are matched by a smooth, creamy mouthfeel with a savoury edge. The wine builds through the mid-palate with lively acidity and finishes dry.

94 Points. Erin Larkin, Halliday Wine Companion

“Expansive, full of flavour and textural, this is yet another exciting release of the estate rosé. Red apples, raspberry, lemony acidity and oodles of exotic market spices. Finer and more precise than the 2020 release, in line with the cool year that birthed it.”

Deep Woods Winery is situated in the heart of the Yallingup rolling hills within Margaret River, perched atop a ridge that offers panoramic views of the valley, enveloped by majestic jarrah and marri trees. The terroir of this location is truly unique; characterized by deep, sandy gravels overlaying clay, and influenced by the Indian Ocean and Great Southern Ocean. We take immense pride in being part of this esteemed wine region.

Since becoming a part of the Fogarty Wine Group in 2005, our vineyards have undergone revitalization, implementing a sustainable maintenance program aimed at enhancing fruit quality and yielding smaller, yet superior crops. It is with great pride that we announce our vineyards have been certified sustainable under Sustainable Winegrowing Australia as of 2024. This commitment to sustainability has resulted in exceptional fruit and the production of premium wines, including award-winning Cabernet and Chardonnay, crafted in limited batches on-site.
