Magnum Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Fraser Gallop Estate Parterre Cabernet 2011

What a treasure of a wine this is—I’m referring to the Fraser Gallop 2011 Parterre Cabernet in its Magnum size (1.5 litres).

An intensely inky coloured wine that is medium-bodied in style with attractive dark cherry, mulberry, blackcurrant fragrance, and trademark Margaret River Cabernet scents of dried nori, bay leaf, and gum leaf. Structure and finesse are its main features, with choc-cherry flavours blending harmoniously with the chocolate and spice oak. Lovely chalky, skinsey tannin closes out the wine, finishing clean and long.

The Fraser Gallop Parterre Cabernet is reaching its prime and is currently in its drinking window, showcasing the best qualities of this remarkable vintage. Its flavours have integrated harmoniously, offering a delightful balance between fruitiness, oak influence, and silky tannins. It is a wine that can be enjoyed now, allowing wine enthusiasts to savour its complexity and elegance at its peak.

Halliday Wine Companion rating system

86/6/4/3/1% cabernet sauvignon/petit verdot/malbec/merlot/cabernet franc. Reaching heights of near perfection, ’18 was a vintage responsible for wines just like this. Supple intensity, concentration of flavour without a gram of weight, the length of flavour possessed only by very healthy, perfectly ripe and balanced grapes. What a gloriously seamless wine, continuing the proud legacy of Parterre.
