Springs Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Henty View Wines Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Henty View Winery have been producing quality premium wines since 2000.

The Geographe Bay area is well known for its high-quality fruit and wine. Our vines are planted on quite steep, well-drained slopes with very complex soil types including rich heavy loam, clay, gravel and some areas of rich fertile sandy soils.

The elevated position and cooling coastal sea breezes provide good air circulation during summer, giving optimum conditions for extended fruit ripening and flavour development and reduced chances of fungal disease. Clean, fresh water is supplied by a spring fed dam.

The 2023 ‘Henty Springs’ SSB was picked at the optimum maturation for both the Semillon and the Sauvignon Blanc, and was co-fermented to produce a very clean, fresh and fruit driven wine that shows good varietal characteristics of both varieties. The wine has a nose of aromatic tropical stone fruit, guava and pineapple, with a clean citrus acidity, cut grass and green pea on the palate and is a balanced wine with a tangy finish.

Learn more about Henty View Wines

Henty View Winery is a boutique award winning Ferguson Valley Winery nestled in the picturesque Geographe Wine Region of Western Australia.

Henty View Wines are made on site in our winery from fruit grown on the property and within the Ferguson Valley region. All our fruit is handpicked, allowing only the best fruit to be selected and less damage to the grapes prior to processing.

The wine is then made and bottled on site. This small-scale, hands-on approach has enabled us to produce high-quality, award-winning wines.

The Henty View Vineyard produces bright, fruity, varietal white wines and premium red wines which are rich, full-bodied style wines made using the open fermentation process and aged in French and American Oak barrels for 18 to 24 months prior to bottling.

Ferguson Wine Region

The Ferguson Valley and surrounds (Geographe) sits about 15 to 30 mins East and Southwest of Bunbury and is home to a number of small boutique wineries. It’s majestic rolling hills, and the changes between the prevailing summer easterlies to the afternoon sea breeze makes for a diverse set of microclimates.

The Geographe region has a rich and vibrant history in grape cultivation, earning its esteemed wine appellation status in 1999. While relatively young, this appellation has increasingly attracted new winemakers since the 2000s. Named after Geographe Bay, initially explored by French navigator Baudin in 1801 aboard his ships, the Geographe and the Naturaliste, the region now hosts 57 winegrowers, 26 producers, and cultivates 36 different grape varieties.

The terroir of the Geographe Wine Region is influenced by its maritime climate, with warm summer temperatures moderated by Indian Ocean breezes year-round. With an average annual temperature of 22.4°C, supplemented by water from the Collie River, the region is ideal for viticulture. Winters bring heavy rainfall, varying from 500-800mm a year. Geographe contributes ten percent to Western Australia’s wine industry, with vineyards reaching a maximum altitude of 400 meters, situated on limestone soil that holds water well along the coast, promoting drainage and mineral-rich content. Coastal vineyards feature low soil fertility, extending ripening times for smaller berries with intense aromas and concentrated flavours, while inland vineyards benefit from higher fertility derived from sandy loam and gneissic rock.
