Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon:
The one, the only, the Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon from Leeuwin Estate continues to rate in Margaret River’s top wines each year.
The 2021 vintage has a nose which is greeted by blackcurrants and dark cherries alongside anise, clove, cardamom, and bay leaf. It is highly lifted and perfumed with lavender and basil flowers. Complexity is evident with iodine, saline and petrichor notations. Drive, direction and line formulate the shape and frame on the palate. Dark forest fruits surround cedar, olives, and graphite. There is distinct minerality threaded within, leading to a fine silky tannin profile.
Art Series Shiraz:
The 2022 vintage has an abundance of dark cherries, blueberries, mulberries and currants surround the nose with heightened floral notes of violets and lavender. Beneath there lies subtle spice notes of black cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise. Gentle layering of cedar, black pepper, and chalk is threaded within. There is also a small amount of Malbec and Viognier added to the 2022 vintage.
An energetic palate with bright and fresh acidity is the backbone weaving within concentrated boysenberries, cherries and currants. There is dimension and capacity through the mid, leading to structural silky tannins that linger to a long finish.
