The Moss Wood Ribbon Vale Merlot is regarded by many as WA’s best Merlot. Like every year the 2020 vintage is exceptional.
The nose opens with a lifted display of the dark fruits, especially blackberries and blueberries. Merlot is lauded for its dark fruit notes and the 2020 has this in spadefuls. The same theme follows on the palate, with intense blackberry and cherry notes in the mid palate, sitting over a firm but balanced structure. It captures the theme of 2020, with lively acid and firm tannin and on the finish the oak is toasty. 2 Years spent on new French Oak.
