Tasting Notes

Colour: Bright pale straw with a youthful green tinge.

Aromatics: Fresh lime, passionfruit and green apple with light tropical fruit, white flowers and subtle green herbs.

Palate: Crisp citrus and tart green fruit lead into passionfruit and gentle tropical flavours. The Semillon gives the palate a slightly rounder, smoother feel, while the Sauvignon Blanc provides aromatic lift and freshness.

Finish: Clean, dry and refreshing, with lingering citrus and a light mineral quality.

Viticulture & Winemaking

Region: Great Southern, Western Australia
Blend: 40% Sauvignon Blanc, 60% Semillon
Fruit source: Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon from separate Great Southern vineyards
Maturation: 6 months in stainless steel (no oak)
Style: Clean, modern SBS with freshness, texture and a dry finish

Why is Semillon in the blend?
Semillon brings a little extra mid-palate weight and texture, making the wine feel more complete and food friendly, while Sauvignon Blanc keeps it zesty and aromatic.

No, it’s a dry style. The Semillon adds texture rather than sweetness.

What does cleanskin mean?
It means the wine is sold without the original label, usually so the producer can protect their normal pricing. You get the same wine, just at a better value.

What is a Cleanskin Wine?

Cleanskin wine refers to red, white, or sparkling wines that come without labels or detailed information about the winery. Despite their unlabelled status, cleanskin wines can offer exceptional quality at a fraction of the usual price.

Why Are Wines Cleanskin?

1. Overproduction: Wineries sometimes produce more wine than they can sell. To manage excess inventory and prevent wastage, these wines are sold as cleanskins at reduced prices.
2. Label Changes or Discontinuation: Wines that were previously branded and sold at higher prices may become cleanskins due to changes in branding or label updates. When a winery updates its label or changes its brand, older wines might be sold as cleanskins.
3. Surplus Stock: Occasionally, wineries have surplus stock from past vintages or production runs. These wines, although still of high quality, are sold as cleanskins to make room for new vintages.
