Fraser Gallop Estate Rosé 2024

The 2024 Rosé from Fraser Gallop Estate is a beautifully crafted wine inspired by the Provençal style. It presents a delicate, super-pale pink hue that invites you to explore its aromatic complexity. The nose is vibrant and fresh, with lifted scents of blood orange, mandarin, white cherry, and a subtle hint of rosewater, creating a fragrant and inviting profile. On the palate, the wine offers a refreshing, mouth-watering experience, with flavours of blood orange tang, rosehip tea, cranberry, and the slight bitterness of cherry stone phenolics.

The wine’s dryness, complemented by just 1.7g/L of residual sugar, imparts a graceful, elegant mouthfeel. The clean, crisp finish lingers delicately, making it an ideal companion for a variety of dishes or a refreshing sip on a warm day. This Rosé captures the essence of elegance and finesse, making it a standout example of the style.

Winemaking Process
This Rosé was crafted from hand-picked Shiraz grapes, harvested in the cool early hours of the morning to preserve the fresh fruit character. Upon arrival at the crush pad, the grapes were destemmed and lightly crushed before being chilled down to 8°C to retain their purity. The fruit was then lightly pressed, and the juice was transferred into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Fermentation was carried out slowly at temperatures not exceeding 15°C to preserve the fresh, vibrant fruit flavours.

Special care was taken throughout the winemaking process to achieve the perfect pale colour, with minimal skin contact, ensuring that the wine’s delicate pink hue was achieved without overwhelming tannins or bitterness.

Why You’ll Love It:

  • Elegantly Dry: A refreshingly dry Rosé with only 1.7g/L of residual sugar, offering a refined mouthfeel.
  • Vibrant Aromas: Bright aromas of blood orange, mandarin, and rosewater that awaken the senses.
  • Crisp and Refreshing: Flavours of blood orange, cranberry, and rosehip tea, with a clean, crisp finish.
  • Provençal Style: A nod to the classic Provençal Rosé, with fresh fruit character and a delicate pale pink hue.
  • Perfect Pairing: Ideal for light dishes such as seafood, salads, or fresh cheeses, or simply enjoyed on its own as a refreshing aperitif.

The vineyard of Fraser Gallop Estate features undulating topography and gravelly laterite loams over clay subsoil providing superb conditions in order to grow Bordeaux and Burgundy grape varieties. The unique location, geography and climate conditions combine to imbue the colour, flavours and aromas found only in a Fraser Gallop Wine.

Our winery, designed by our winemaker and purpose-built in 2008, has a 300-tonne capacity. It is specifically designed in layout and size for the fermentation of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends.

Through minimal intervention, harnessing naturally occurring environmental yeasts, and employing a blend of traditional techniques and modern winemaking skills, we strive to create wines that exhibit balance and finesse upon release while possessing the structure and pedigree to flourish with careful cellaring.

Our Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc wines develop their flavour, texture, and complexity in the finest quality French oak barrels sourced from renowned Bordelais cooperages for the Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends, and Burgundian cooperages for the Chardonnay.
