Gilbert Wines Estate Chardonnay

We’re thrilled to present the 2023 Estate Chardonnay, a distinguished white wine crafted from our almost 40-year-old estate vines—the very first vines we planted back in 1985. This wine showcases our commitment to quality and tradition, highlighting the unique character of our Kendenup/ Mount Barker terroir. Handpicked with care, the fruit from these mature vines imparts a depth of flavour and complexity that truly reflects our estate’s legacy.

In the glass, it reveals a pristine, golden hue that hints at its rich texture. The nose offers an inviting mix of melon and citrus, with additional layers of stone fruits, apples, and sweet spices. A subtle hint of nougat adds a touch of elegance to the aromatic profile.

On the palate, this Chardonnay is a delight. The barrel fermentation lends a creamy mouthfeel, while the French oak imparts a refined texture. Flavours of ripe stone fruits, apples, and sweet spices are complemented by notes of nougat and a hint of savouriness.
