FAQ Technical Terms

• Shiraz: A type of grape known for its bold, juicy flavours. It’s typically used for rich red wines, but in Rosé form, it gives a fresh, fruit-forward style.
• Unwooded maturation: This means the wine is not aged in wooden barrels. It’s kept in stainless steel tanks to preserve the bright fruit flavours and crispness.
• Citrus zest: The fresh, tangy flavour you get from the outer skin of citrus fruits like lemons or limes.
• Red berries: This is a general term that includes fruits like strawberries, raspberries, and cherries, which are commonly found in the taste of Rosé.
• Crisp finish: A wine that feels refreshing and clean as you taste it, often with a touch of acidity that leaves your palate feeling invigorated.

Vintage

The 2024 vintage in Great Southern was warm and generous, perfectly suited to producing the vibrant, fruit-forward style seen in the Lake House “He Said She Said” Rosé. A dry, hot and early season brought rapid ripening across the region, resulting in grapes with intense colour and ripe, juicy flavours. While many red varieties developed serious depth and tannin, parcels destined for rosé were picked slightly earlier to retain natural freshness, a smart move in a warm year. The result is a sweet-leaning, luscious rosé brimming with flavours of strawberry, watermelon, and Turkish delight, underpinned by a soft, rounded palate. The 2024 warmth ensured excellent fruit ripeness and a touch of natural sweetness, giving this vintage its crowd-pleasing richness and smooth finish. Despite its generosity, a gentle line of acidity keeps things lively and balanced. Overall, 2024’s conditions have given the He Said She Said Rosé a sunnier, more opulent personality, a true reflection of both the season and the playful, approachable style that Lake House is known for.

I have been buying my wines from Kirk for about two years now and I have never had a bad experience or wine. I love the fact that the wines are all West Australian, so supporting local and lower carbon footprint. He delivers when it’s convenient for me and brings the wine to my door. Wines are all good quality and well priced, especially the cleanskins. Highly recommended
