Magnum 1.5L Sparkling 2017

Myattsfield Vineyard 2017 Sparkling Magnum

The Myattsfield Vineyard Methode Traditionelle Sparkling is crafted in the classic Methode Traditionelle style, combining 51% Chardonnay and 49% Pinot Noir. This exceptional cuvée undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle, a traditional method that contributes to its high quality. Notably, this Magnum size bottle has spent an impressive 6 years on lees before being disgorged in April 2024, allowing for a refined and complex profile with soft, lifted yeasty notes.

Colour, Aromas, and Smell:
In the glass, this sparkling wine presents a fine, persistent mousse with a delicate, yet persistent bead. The aromatic bouquet reveals a delightful harmony of gentle, elevated yeast-driven notes. You’ll encounter enticing scents of zesty lemon curd, complemented by subtle hints of yeast autolysis, creating an inviting and sophisticated nose.

Flavours, Tastes, and Palate:
On the palate, the Methode Traditionelle Sparkling offers a pristine and invigorating experience. The clean, refreshing acidity is balanced by tantalising flavours of lemon curd and soft, yeasty notes from extended lees contact. The wine’s well-integrated acidity and flavour profile ensure a crisp and refreshing finish, making it a beautifully crafted sparkling wine with great depth and elegance.

Food Matching:
This sparkling wine is an impeccable aperitif, perfect for starting any celebration or special occasion. It pairs wonderfully with freshly shucked oysters, enhancing the delicate flavours of the seafood with its crisp and clean profile. Its versatility also makes it a great match for a variety of light dishes, including canapés and seafood starters.

Learn more about Myattsfield …

Myattsfield Vineyard is a beautiful boutique winery nested in the Perth Hills region.

The original Myattsfield was the family farm in Camberwell, London. Joseph Myatt established a market garden on land owned by the Minet family. Over 175 years on, as descendants of Joseph, we’re now here in the Bickley Valley, Western Australia. The Bickley Valley is merely a small sub-region of the Perth Hills Wine Region, spanning from Chittering to Jarrahdale. This area was acknowledged for its distinct set of geographical and topographical influences impacting the wine quality in the region by the Geographic Indications Committee. It was granted GIC status as a gazetted wine region in 1999.

Who owns Myattsfield Winery? Owners Josh and Rachael are devoted to producing premium red and white wines with a personal, hands on approach. Their wines continue to gain accolades through the industry, with the likes of Ray Jordan ranking Myattsfield a top winery of the Perth Hills. We are pleased to offer you their extensive array of award-winning wines. Expect your palate to be taken on a journey of flavours, with some lesser known, but amazing varietals rarely found like Durif.

The Darling Scarp protects the Valley from maritime influences, making the climate more continental than Mediterranean in nature. This corresponds to cold nights and warm days. Valley walls reduce direct daylight hours, resulting in the daily maxima arriving later in the day and for a shorter period. At 300-350m above sea level, the Bickley Valley is 2-3 degrees cooler than Perth. Amongst the undulating terrain and aspects, site plays an important role in the valley. Elevated, northern-facing slopes produce significantly warmer sites better suited to dry red varieties. Southern-facing, lower sites produce cooler variations capable of producing better whites and lighter reds, while elevated, western-facing sites are ideal for fortified production.
