Out on a Limb sits alongside the Kalgan River in a serene corner of the Great Southern where mountain ranges, rivers and the nearby Southern Ocean combine to create a truly unique microclimate. The vineyard was planted in 2014 on a stony ridge above the river, and during the crucial ripening months a cool breeze funnels up the valley, often bringing ocean fog and light drizzle. These conditions make it one of the coolest vineyard sites in WA through January to March, perfect for producing Riesling with piercing lime purity, delicate aromatics and a long, refreshing finish.

All about lime. Fresh lime zest, lime blossom and citrus peel, with subtle hints of crushed stone and river pebble minerality.

Palate
Crisp, dry and vibrant. Concentrated lime juice and subtle lemon pith drive the palate, supported soft acidity and a clean, mineral thread. The cool site expression gives real precision and length rather than sweetness or softness.

Out on a Limb is shaped by its place. The Kalgan River valley draws cool air up from the Southern Ocean during January to March, creating foggy mornings and cooler ripening conditions than much of Western Australia.
