Colour
Pale straw with a bright green hue.

Aromatics
All about lime. Fresh lime zest, lime blossom and citrus peel, with subtle hints of crushed stone and river pebble minerality.

Palate
Crisp, dry and vibrant. Concentrated lime juice and subtle lemon pith drive the palate, supported soft acidity and a clean, mineral thread. The cool site expression gives real precision and length rather than sweetness or softness.

Finish
Long and racy with lingering lime and a clean, refreshing snap.

The Kalgan Story

Out on a Limb is shaped by its place. The Kalgan River valley draws cool air up from the Southern Ocean during January to March, creating foggy mornings and cooler ripening conditions than much of Western Australia. The vineyard’s stony ridge soils and the slow, even ripening contribute to Riesling’s trademark citrus purity and naturally high acidity.

• Region: Kalgan River, Great Southern, Western Australia

• Vineyard: Farm planted in 2014 on a stony ridge above the Kalgan River

• Variety: 100 percent Riesling

• Climate influence: Cool river breezes with ocean fog and drizzle during ripening

• Style: Dry, lime driven, cool climate Riesling with mineral detail

• Serve well chilled at 6 to 9 degrees

• Delicious now for its vibrant lime and freshness

• Will cellar beautifully for 5 to 10 years, developing toast, honey and more savoury complexity while retaining its citrus core
