Power & Precision | White Wine of the Year

The 2024 Pierro Chardonnay is a masterclass in balance – combining finesse, flavour, and structure in a way that few wines achieve. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and drawn from one of Margaret River’s most revered sites, this wine offers a seamless interplay of ripe stone fruit, flinty minerality, and creamy texture. Awarded White Wine of the Year and 98 Points by Ray Jordan, it’s a benchmark example of why Pierro remains at the top of Australia’s Chardonnay game.

Why You Will Love It

  • Power Meets Elegance – White peach, grapefruit, and nougat meet with tightly woven acidity and flinty minerality.

  • Unrivalled Pedigree – From one of the first close-planted Chardonnay vineyards in Margaret River, now an icon of the region.

  • Cellar-Worthy Excellence – A wine that will age gracefully over the next decade, gaining complexity with time.

  • Critically Acclaimed – ‘White Wine of the Year’ with near-perfect scores.

Awards

Ray Jordan – 98 Points

From one of Margaret River’s great chardonnay producers, this is yet another brilliant example of the style that has made Pierro so admired. You wouldn’t guess it came from a warm year – it’s delicate and fine, with a pristine brightness. The nose shows light grapefruit, citrus, a touch of butterscotch, and a subtle mealy note in the background. The palate has real zing, with lively, pristine acidity driving through to a sustained finish. A chalky, minerally edge adds to the linear feel and precision. Another outstanding Pierro chardonnay.

  • Hand Picked & Sorted – Nine separate picks for optimal balance between acidity and flavour.

  • Whole Bunch Pressed – Using a gentle sparkling press cycle to preserve purity.

  • Fermentation & Ageing – 100% French oak barriques (44% new), full malolactic fermentation, 12 months maturation with fortnightly bâtonnage.

  • Sustainable Focus – Vineyard practices designed for long-term health of soil and vines.
