The vintage of 2021 experienced dry conditions throughout winter and spring, which led to an even fruit set. Despite high rainfall during harvest, which created some disease pressure, careful vineyard management, including dropping excess bunches, ensured the grapes achieved optimal ripeness. The result is a wine with notable green apple and pear notes. The influence of four months on lees is evident, contributing a rich texture and complexity to the finish. This time on lees adds a distinctive depth, enhancing the overall character of the wine while allowing the fine fruit and vibrant acidity to shine.
With its ageing potential extending up to 5-8 years, this Riesling promises to develop further and offer evolving layers of flavour over time.
