Tasting Notes 🍓

🔹 Appearance – A pale, delicate pink with a vibrant hue.

🔹 Aroma – Lifted aromas of strawberry cream, Turkish delight, and a background note of fresh raspberry, inviting you into its refreshing profile.

🔹 Palate – Flavours of bright berry fruits, with a subtle hint of orange peel zest. The texture is chalky and mineral, offering a refined mouthfeel.

🔹 Finish – A long, savoury finish with appealing pepper and spice that lingers, balancing the fruit with complexity.

Winemaking

🔹 Minimal Skin Contact – The wine’s pale pink colour and delicate structure come from minimal time on the skins, allowing for a cleaner, fresher style.

🔹 Purity of Tempranillo – The Tempranillo grape is allowed to shine, highlighting its vibrancy and freshness, ideal for Rosé production.

🔹 Fresh & Vibrant – The grapes are pressed gently to preserve the freshness and purity of the fruit, resulting in a bright, aromatic wine.

Serving Temperature

🔹 Ideal – 8-10°C

🔹 Why – Slightly chilled to bring out the wine’s fresh, vibrant fruit flavours and crisp acidity.

  • For an optimal experience, avoid serving it too cold to allow the aromas and flavours to open up. Leave out of the fridge for 5 minutes before serving.

🔹 Result – At the right temperature, the wine’s delicate aromatics, vibrant fruit, and balanced acidity will shine.

Perfect Pairings

🔹 Seafood & Light Dishes – Pairs beautifully with grilled prawns, fresh oysters, or light salads, enhancing the freshness of the food.

🔹 Fresh Pasta – Perfect alongside pasta with a light tomato sauce or a creamy pasta dish, where its acidity and fruit balance the flavours.

🔹 Aperitif – Enjoyed on its own or served as an aperitif, it’s a versatile wine for casual gatherings or as a refreshing start to a meal.

FAQ: Wine Terms ❓

🔹 Minimal Skin Contact – Refers to the process where the grape skins are in contact with the juice for only a short time, preserving the light colour and crisp flavours.

🔹 Tempranillo – A versatile red grape known for its deep flavours and vibrant fruit character. In Rosé, it provides a fresh and fruity base.

🔹 Chalky Texture – A term used to describe a dry, mineral feel on the palate, adding a refreshing, slightly powdery finish to the wine.

🔹 Savoury Notes – Flavours that are more earthy or spice-driven, providing a counterbalance to the fruitier elements of the wine.

The Willow Bridge Estate Rosé 2023 is a vibrant and elegant wine, perfect for the spring and summer months. With fresh berry fruits, subtle spice, and a mineral texture, it’s versatile enough for various food pairings or to be enjoyed on its own. A fantastic option for those seeking a refreshing and complex Rosé.

Learn About Willow Bridge Estate

Willow Bridge Estate is two hours south of Perth in the Geographe wine region. Located in the Ferguson Valley a pristine piece of land that rises from the coast to form rolling hills, unique to this corner of the world.

Who Owns Willow Bridge Estate? Willow Bridge Estate is family owned and operated by principals Jeff and Vicki Dewar, who bought the picturesque 180-hectare hillside property in 1996.

The vineyard is set high on the western side of the Darling Ranges, with the vines enjoying beautiful views over the coastal plain, and across the tranquil waters of Geographe Bay to Cape Naturaliste.

The Willow Bridge Estate vineyard is situated 25km from the coast in a direct line, benefiting from the refreshing afternoon sea breeze that graces the land during summer. Positioned at an elevation ranging from 230 to 280 meters, the estate enjoys temperatures typically two degrees cooler than those on the coastal plain, akin to the cooler southern reaches of the neighbouring Margaret River wine region.

The Ferguson Valley wine region has an annual rainfall of approximately 914mm, the majority of which—around 80%—occurs over four months during the winter dormancy period of the vines. Summers are characterised by dry, sun-drenched days, fostering a consistency between vintages that is perhaps unmatched in the world of wine.

The estate’s soils, known as “Marri soils” after the majestic Marri eucalyptus trees they often support, have evolved over an impressive two and a half billion years from granite. These soils consist of a well-draining layer of lateritic red gravel and loam overlaying yellow or white clay—a composition highly prized by vignerons in Western Australia.

Established in 1997, the 60 hectares of Willow Bridge Estate vineyards were strategically planted around two hills, offering a full 360° exposure to the sun. Being in a phylloxera-free region, all vines were planted on their own roots, while planting along the ridge line has minimised the risk from spring frosts.

The Wines are produced until the careful guidance of Senior Winemaker – Kim Horton & Assistant Winemaker – Dougal Herd. Both received the 2021 Geographe Wine Show Trophy Excellence in Winemaking.
