Textural | Rare & Radiant | Unique

A truly one-of-a-kind rosé crafted from the unexpected union of Brachetto and Chardonnay, fermented and matured for 9 months in traditional clay amphora. This small-batch, Manjimup-grown wine is both a curiosity and a delight—bright, creamy, and endlessly refreshing. Think strawberries and cream with a citrus zip, carried by a saline minerality and fine acidity only possible with extended lees contact and skilled amphora ageing.

Partners in Wine Review

The first thing you will notice is the texture. Often Rose can be dominated by it’s acidity and the fruit flavours play a distant 2nd. The Woodgate Rose flips that on its head with very soft acidity and a creamy mouthfeel, yes it’s soft and creamy which makes it extremely easy to drink. The berry flavours are intregrated well and it’s a true delight to drink. We highly recommend it giving our GOLD rating of 95 Points.

Why You Will Love It ❤️

  • A Rare Blend – Brachetto, a red grape known for its aromatic floral lift, is rarely seen in Australia—especially not blended with Chardonnay. The result? A perfumed yet structured rosé unlike any other.

  • Amphora Magic – Nine months in traditional clay amphora gives this wine a fine, earthy texture and quiet complexity that sets it apart from modern steel-aged rosé.

  • Strawberries & Cream Vibes – Bursting with juicy strawberry, subtle rose petal, and creamy lees texture, yet held together by a zesty backbone of citrus and minerality.

  • Minimal Intervention – Wild ferment and extended lees contact make this a wine of purity, character, and true artisan technique.

FAQ ❓

What makes this rosé different?
It’s a rare combination of Brachetto and Chardonnay, aged in traditional clay amphora—a nod to ancient winemaking methods—resulting in an earthy, creamy, and fruit-forward style unlike most modern rosés.

What is amphora fermentation?
An ancient technique using clay vessels to allow gentle oxygenation. It adds texture, minerality, and subtle savoury depth without the heavy influence of oak.

Is this wine sweet?
Despite the strawberries-and-cream aromas, it’s a dry rosé with vibrant acidity and refreshing structure.
