A small family-owned winery with deep roots in Wilyabrup.
Jilyara is very much shaped by family ownership and by the vineyard itself. The site was planted in 1995 by the Cotterell family, and for many years the fruit was sold to other well-known Margaret River producers before the family launched the Jilyara label in 2018. That history gives the winery more depth than a newer boutique brand, because the vineyard story came first and the wines followed later.

Wilyabrup remains central to the Jilyara identity. The vineyard sits in a protected part of the region behind the Wilyabrup Reserve, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc planted across the slopes. That setting matters because Wilyabrup is one of Margaret River’s most respected subregions, especially for Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, and it gives Jilyara a very clear sense of place.
