About Woody Nook Wines

Woody Nook Wines was founded in 1982 and has remained true to its boutique Margaret River roots. Since Peter and Jane Bailey took over the winery in 2000, Woody Nook has gone on to collect more than 300 awards, including 11 trophies, more than 40 gold medals and over 50 silver medals in respected Australian wine competitions.

Today, Woody Nook farms around 17 hectares of vines across two vineyard sites. The original vineyard includes dry-grown, handpicked plantings of varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon and Cabernet Franc. A newer vineyard planted in 2007 added Tempranillo and Graciano to the mix, expanding the range while maintaining the winery’s boutique scale and hands-on approach.

Woody Nook continues to focus on small-scale, quality-driven winemaking. In 2020, Digby Leddin joined as chief winemaker, bringing with him decades of experience across leading Western Australian wineries. His background in both viticulture and winemaking has helped continue Woody Nook’s reputation for producing expressive, regionally true wines with balance, flavour and polish.

This is a winery that combines experience, consistency and genuine attention to detail in every vintage, which is a big part of why Woody Nook continues to attract such a loyal following among WA wine lovers.
