Vineyard & Winemaking:

The 2023 Alkoomi Chardonnay was crafted from estate-grown fruit in the Frankland River region, benefiting from a cool growing season and a hot finish. The grapes were handpicked early in the morning to retain freshness and preserve their delicate aromatics. The wine was fermented in oak and spent 8 months on new French oak, undergoing lees maturation to build texture and complexity. Careful blending helped to create a harmonious balance between fruit, oak, and acidity.

Oak Maturation: The wine spent 8 months in new French oak, adding subtle spice and complexity to the wine while allowing the fruit’s bright character to shine through.
Fermentation: The wine was fermented in oak barrels, enhancing its texture and providing a soft, creamy mouthfeel.
Harvest: Handpicked early in the morning to preserve the freshness of the fruit, the grapes were carefully sorted to ensure only the highest quality fruit was used.
