Castelli Estate Ebullient Sparkling Grenache

The Castelli name, deeply rooted in Italian heritage, originates from the picturesque village of San Giorgio a Liri in Italy’s Lazio region. Nestled between Rome and Naples and framed by the serene Aurunci mountain range and the winding Liri River, this charming village is the ancestral home of the Castelli family and where our uncle, Gregorio Castelli, continues the winemaking traditions passed down by our grandfather, Germino. Meanwhile, Gregorio’s elder brother, Sam, who immigrated to Western Australia, established the Castelli name in his new homeland by founding an ASX-listed engineering firm and creating the Castelli Group, a diverse conglomerate with interests in renewable energy, real estate, and, of course, wine.

The 2018 Castelli Estate Ebullient Sparkling Grenache is a vivacious and refreshing choice, bursting with vibrant flavours of ripe raspberry and succulent strawberry. A delicate hint of white pepper adds a nuanced spiciness that enhances its complexity. The inclusion of a fortified dosage enriches the wine, contributing a luxurious depth and creamy mousse. Its elegant mouthfeel culminates in a harmonious balance of crisp acidity and delightful fruit sweetness.

This sparkling Grenache is an ideal option for celebratory occasions or as an accompaniment to a range of dishes. Try it with Peking duck pancakes for a delightful contrast of textures and flavours, or pair it with glazed ham to complement the sweet and savoury elements of the dish. Additionally, it pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables or a charcuterie board featuring rich cheeses and cured meats.

Castelli Estate wines, founded in 2007 have long been producing award winning premium red and white wines.

The Castelli name is steeped in Italian heritage, originating in the picturesque country village of San Giorgio a Liri, nestled in Italy’s Lazio region – the birthplace of the Castelli family. About halfway between Rome and Naples lies the village of San Giorgio a Liri. Framed by the serene green Aurunci mountain range and the winding Liri River, the village is home to our uncle Gregorio Castelli.

Gregorio carries on the winemaking traditions passed down by our grandfather, Germino. When Gregorio’s elder brother Sam immigrated to Western Australia, he concentrated on establishing the Castelli name in his new homeland. Sam founded an ASX-listed engineering firm and formed the Castelli Group – a diverse conglomerate with investments in renewable energy, real estate development, and wine.

In 2004, Sam and his son Adam stumbled upon the plot of land that would perpetuate the Castelli family’s passion for crafting premium wine in Australia. Sam was always enamored with the scenery around Denmark. With slopes cascading into valleys adorned with eucalyptus trees, and the faint tang of salt from the Southern Ocean carried on the breeze, the 120-acre estate proved to be the ideal setting for the Castelli family to establish their presence.

From those humble beginnings to now, the Castelli Wine range to has seen medals, and trophies, earning critical acclaim. Yet, the true joy comes from knowing that our wines are savored as they were meant to be – shared around the family table, accompanied by food, tales, and laughter.
