Fraser Gallop Estate

Palladian Chardonnay 2019

Fraser Gallop Estate Palladian Chardonnay

The 2019 Palladian Chardonnay from Fraser Gallop Estate embodies elegance and complexity in every sip. Its radiant golden hue captivates the eye, showcasing the brilliance of this exceptional wine.

On the palate, the Palladian Chardonnay reveals a harmonious blend of flavours. Ripe stone fruits, such as peach and apricot, dance gracefully across the tongue, complemented by notes of lemon zest, honeysuckle, and a hint of minerality. The wine’s creamy texture adds depth and richness, while the oak is beautifully integrated, enhancing the overall balance without overpowering the fruit.

The Fraser Gallop Palladian Chardonnay is a versatile wine, making it an excellent companion to a wide range of dishes. It pairs particularly well with seafood, such as lobster, scallops, or grilled fish. The wine also complements roasted poultry, creamy risottos, and aged cheeses, making it an ideal choice for a variety of occasions.

Winemaking Process
Hand-picked from Fraser Gallop Estate’s premium vineyards, the grapes for this Chardonnay were carefully selected to ensure optimal ripeness. The fruit was gently whole-bunch pressed to extract the highest quality juice, which was then fermented in French oak barrels. The wine underwent periodic bâtonnage (lees stirring) to enhance its creamy mouthfeel, allowing the flavours to integrate beautifully. This process, combined with careful maturation in oak, results in a wine with exceptional complexity and balance.

Cellaring Potential
It will continue to evolve over the next 5-7 years, developing greater complexity and refinement as it ages.

Why You’ll Love It:

  • Elegant Complexity: A beautifully balanced Chardonnay with ripe fruit, minerality, and integrated oak.
  • Versatile Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with seafood, poultry, creamy pastas, and aged cheeses.
  • Creamy Texture: A rich, smooth mouthfeel enhanced by the oak maturation and bâtonnage.
  • Ageing Potential: Will evolve beautifully in the cellar for the next 5-7 years.

Huon Hooke, 97/ 100, The Real Review 2018

A beautiful, very refined and complex wine. The bouquet shows low-level sulphides, smoky oak aromas
and rich fruit. The palate is delicate, tight and fine, with terrific intensity, line and length. A top
chardonnay.

The vineyard of Fraser Gallop Estate features undulating topography and gravelly laterite loams over clay subsoil providing superb conditions in order to grow Bordeaux and Burgundy grape varieties. The unique location, geography and climate conditions combine to imbue the colour, flavours and aromas found only in a Fraser Gallop Wine.

Our winery, designed by our winemaker and purpose-built in 2008, has a 300-tonne capacity. It is specifically designed in layout and size for the fermentation of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends.

Through minimal intervention, harnessing naturally occurring environmental yeasts, and employing a blend of traditional techniques and modern winemaking skills, we strive to create wines that exhibit balance and finesse upon release while possessing the structure and pedigree to flourish with careful cellaring.

Our Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc wines develop their flavour, texture, and complexity in the finest quality French oak barrels sourced from renowned Bordelais cooperages for the Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends, and Burgundian cooperages for the Chardonnay.
