Fraser Gallop Estate Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2019 Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon is beautiful and dark with crimson hues. Blackberry and char-grilled meats with smoky toasty oak aromas, quite similar to many Bordeaux Cabernets in profile. It is a medium-bodied wine with a succulent fleshy mid-palate with flavours of blackberry and red currants with hints of Nori seaweed and bay leaf and lapsang tea. Layers of flavours wash over the mouth but also words like elegance and finesse and complexity are evoked when tasting this wine. The tannins are soft and supple.
This wine displays exceptional balance and structure, with well-integrated oak and a vibrant acidity that adds freshness and longevity. The finish is remarkably persistent, leaving a lasting impression that invites further exploration.
