Happs Malbec

Malbec is a very interesting variety with a distinctive flavour profile that is a useful addition to ones armoury. Displays aromas of mulberry, blueberry, violets, dark cherry and stewed red fruit, with notes of choc mint, coffee and rum & raisin. A big, rich wine with plush fruit and incredible density – it’s almost juicy on the palate. The flavours are primarily of dark fruits such as blackberry, black currant and mulberry with notes of cola, plum skin, black jubes, dark chocolate and cedary oak. It is a tight elegant wine with soft, velvety tannins.

Happs East Of Alice Blend

A complex aroma displaying raspberry, cranberry, strawberry and black olive with hints of dried herbs, spice, pomegranate and eucalypt. The palate is light to medium bodied with a savoury edge that makes one salivate and crave food. The flavours are of cherry, plum skin, tapenade and roasted red peppers with notes of dark chocolate, aniseed, coffee and cured meats. The tannins are noticeable and slightly drying which only adds to the desire for food. A wine well matched to tapas.

A blend of 46% Graciano, 29% Grenache, 23% Shiraz and 2% Sangiovese.

The Happs Winery story starts with its foundation in 1978, Happs and Commonage Pottery has a long and inspiring story as one of the pioneering, family-run wineries and in the Margaret River region.

It all started way back when, two local high school teachers, Erl and Ros Happ fell in love in 1969.

Outstanding wine is the outcome of an outstanding team, led by winemaker Mark Warren, who has been creating delicious wines at Happs since 2003. Mark is an accomplished wine judge and lecturer, with extensive experience crafting wines for many acclaimed wineries. When Mark isn’t busy overseeing our wide range of wines, he somehow finds time to produce his own wine under the Marq label. He even manages to sneak in the odd fishing trip. The outstanding vineyard crew led by Andy Coventry & Bill Parsons keep the Three Hills Vineyard & Dunsborough Vineyard in the best of health.
