Lean ~ Mineral ~ Citrus-driven

The Kerrigan + Berry Chardonnay of 2024 is a modern WA Chardonnay built on purity, restraint and site character. Sourced from old vine, dry grown Gin Gin clone fruit across Margaret River and Mount Barker.

The 2024 season was extraordinary for its warmth and, more importantly, its dryness, with virtually no rain for months. Low yields followed, but the fruit came in beautifully balanced, giving white wines that stayed fresh and vibrant.

In the cellar, only the free-run portion was used for the cleanest expression. Fermented in French oak barriques (30% new) and matured for a further 10 months, it avoids both lees stirring and malolactic fermentation, keeping the profile tight, bright and energetic.

Why You Will Love It

  • Old vine, dry grown Gin Gin clone Chardonnay for natural intensity and line
  • Fresh, tightly structured style with mineral and citrus drive, not tropical sweetness
  • Free-run juice only for finesse and low phenolic impact
  • French barrique ferment with 30% new oak for subtle framing, not oakiness
  • Drinking wonderfully well now, but will reward medium-term cellaring to gain complexity
