Technical Terms Explained:

  • Passionfruit and Gooseberry: These are common flavours found in Sauvignon Blanc, giving the wine a bright, tropical fruit profile. Passionfruit adds sweetness and tropical richness, while gooseberry adds tartness.
  • Cool Climate Notes: Wines from cooler regions like Denmark have distinct flavours, often described as flinty or spicy, which adds a layer of complexity and freshness.
  • Flint: A mineral aroma reminiscent of wet stone or steel, often associated with wines made in cooler climates.
  • Mandarin: A citrus fruit that is sweeter than an orange, adding a spiced note to the mid-palate.
  • Unwooded: This means the wine has not been aged in oak barrels, allowing the fresh fruit flavours to remain front and centre without the influence of wood flavours like vanilla or toast.
  • Acidity: This gives the wine its fresh, zesty character and makes it feel crisp on the palate. It also helps the wine pair well with food.
