Bold & Smooth
The Lancaster Wines Old Vines Shiraz (2025 vintage) is a bold, unmistakably Swan Valley red – grown in the warm pocket of vineyards right on Perth’s doorstep, where old vines dig deep and deliver serious flavour. The colour is a deep, dark crimson, and the nose comes on in waves: jammy blackberry, juicy plum and black cherry, then a lift of pepper and baking spice, with darker edges of cocoa, earthy depth and savoury warmth.
Why You Will Love It
- Rich & Juicy: Deep crimson colour with a plush core of blackberry, plum and black cherry, plus that classic Swan Valley warmth and depth.
- Structured (but still approachable): Concentrated fruit supported by integrated tannins, peppery spice and subtle oak-driven complexity.
- Cellaring Potential: Built to drink well now (especially with a decant), but will reward up to 10 years in the cellar as the tannins soften and savoury notes deepen.
- 2025 vintage character: A warm, fast-moving Swan Valley vintage with heat spells and dry summer conditions, delivering density and flavour concentration, balanced by the season’s natural shaping of the crop.
- Small Batch: With crop levels reduced in many vineyards due to spring disease pressure and careful selection, this Old Vine release is limited – once it’s gone, it’s gone.
