The Mandoon Estate Old Vines Grenache is a gold medal-winning wine that showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of the Sita family, planted in 1955 on Haddrill Road. The fruit is hand-picked at peak ripeness, then gently fermented on skins for 10-14 days to extract optimal colour and tannins. After fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in 1-2-year-old French hogsheads, allowing for a minimal intervention approach.

The nose is an enticing blend of raspberry, black cherry, and plum, with undertones of cedar, star anise, and rose petal. On the palate, the wine is opulent and seamless, with juicy flavours of raspberry, cherry, and mulberry. Hints of liquorice and sweet spice add layers of complexity, while soft, savoury tannins bring balance to the vibrant, fruit-driven profile. The finish is long and lingering, with the red fruit and confectionary notes lingering on the palate.

You gotta love Swan Valley grenache. This comes from old dry grown and very low yielding bush vines that are handpicked and made following a traditional hands-on approach. Medium bodied fruit sees only older oak to let the natural exotic lifted red fruits of the variety to emerge. Rose petal and a touch of lavender with vibrant red berry nuances. Great balance and poise.
