Reviews & Awards 🏆

  • Ray Jordan Wine Review – 95 Points: “Come on guys, you have to love this wonderful blend of these three Rhone varieties sourced from Geographe. It’s soft and supple but still with a chalky core of tannin and oak providing its poise and direction. It’s really about the fruit with only a small amount of oak influence. Super wine for current drinking while all that vibrant youthful fruit is doing its thing.”

FAQ Wine Terms 🤔

  • Tannins: Naturally occurring compounds found in grape skins and seeds that provide structure and mouthfeel. Tannins can taste dry or astringent, but when well-balanced, they give a wine a smooth, velvety texture.
  • Fermentation on Skins: This process involves fermenting the grape juice with its skins to extract colour, flavour, and tannins. It’s especially important in red wines to develop the depth of flavour and structure.
  • Puncheons: Large oak barrels (usually 500L) used for aging wine. The larger size means the wine spends less time in contact with the oak, which imparts subtler oak characteristics compared to smaller barrels.
