This is a solid shiraz using 20% new French oak and the rest seasoned. Got about 12 months in oak. Has a savoury ripe plum character with a little earthiness and savoury notes. It has a bright vibrancy about it with a juicy plush fruit expression. It’s a very youthful wine displaying a bright palate feel.

Tasting Notes 🍇

• Colour: Deep ruby with a purple hue.
• Aromatics: Soft espresso, dark berries, a whisper of clove & savoury bacon fat.
• Palate: Layers of dark plum, green peppercorn, thyme & blackberry bramble, underscored by graphite, cocoa, liquorice & sage.

The Vineyard was originally planted back in 1988, Montague Estate is situated amid the beautiful landscape of Wilyabrup Valley, one of the beating hearts of the Margaret River wine region. Montague represents a new chapter in the life of the vineyard, built upon the legacy laid down by Arlwood Estate and Heydon Estate that have held past custodianship of the vines.  Nestled amongst the iconic, pioneering vineyards of Vasse Felix, Moss Wood and Cullen, Montague Estate is a stunning, undulating, forty-five hectare property, with vines whose roots stretch out across caps of laterite rock, ironstone gravel, clay and sand.
