Moss Wood Wines Amy’s Blend is a standout Bordeaux-style wine, featuring a carefully crafted mix of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 7% Malbec, and 5% Petit Verdot. The grapes are hand-picked and sorted on the estate, ensuring top-notch quality. After fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in used French oak barrels and spends 18 months maturing in those barrels. This attention to detail results in a wine with a vibrant, fresh crimson colour.

The nose of the 2021 Amy’s Blend is rich and inviting, with a lovely array of aromas. You’ll immediately notice the dominant notes of blueberries and violets from the Cabernet Sauvignon. Petit Verdot adds depth with dark berry and jube scents, while Merlot contributes hints of black currant and Malbec brings a touch of red fruit and a dash of white pepper spice. There’s also a subtle backdrop of cedar, tobacco, and a gentle oak influence from the barrel aging.

On the palate, the wine delivers on its aromatic promises, with red and dark fruits taking centre stage and offering impressive length. It’s full-bodied with a well-balanced structure and lively acidity that keeps the fruit flavours fresh. The mouthfeel is rich and dense, and the tannins are smooth and refined, providing a pleasing finish without any harsh edges.
