Powerful ~ Plush ~ Portuguese-Inspired

Crafted in tribute to Kenneth Green, grandfather of winemaker Josh Davenport, this small-batch fortified wine carries both personal legacy and Portuguese tradition in every bottle. Made from Touriga Nacional grown in Carmel Valley, it’s a vibrant, slightly drier expression of vintage port—more elegance than excess, more spice than syrup.

Foot-stomped in traditional style (yes, the fruit was chilled to 5°C!), this fortified wine is deeply aromatic and plush in fruit, but with remarkable balance, structure and age-worthy potential.

Only a limited quantity produced.

Why You’ll Love It ❤️

  • 🍒 Touriga Nacional – A wonderful grape variety perfect for a fortified delivering lifted aromatics of orange peel, cherry and spice.
  • 🍫 Flavour bomb – black forest cake, panforte, maraschino cherry, hazelnut and toffee.
  • 🍷 Slightly drier style – less syrupy than classic Aussie fortifieds, with silky texture and savoury grip.
  • 👃 Evolving aromatics – with age comes lifted perfume, complexity, and refined elegance.
  • 🪵 Only 6 months in oak – to preserve fruit purity and let the bottle do the ageing.
  • 🥃 Mixed spirit fortification – 30% brandy for warmth and depth, 70% neutral spirit for clean fruit expression.

Touriga Nacional

A fascinating grape variety widely regarded as the noble grape of Portugal, and it’s the backbone of many of the world’s finest vintage Ports. Naturally high in tannin, acidity, and deeply concentrated colour, Touriga Nacional brings both structure and longevity to fortified wines—making it ideal for ageing. Its intense aromatics of violets, dark berries, and orange peel add complexity and lift, while its ability to retain freshness—even in warmer climates or during late harvest—ensures balance against the sweetness of fortification. When made in the traditional style, as with the Kenneth Green Vintage Fortified, it produces wines that are both rich and elegant, with incredible depth and cellaring potential.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby-black in the glass. The nose offers lifted aromas of preserved cherry, citrus rind, cloves and rich Christmas cake. The palate is dense and silky, layered with flavours of black cherry, chocolate, toffee, and dried orange peel, finishing long and warming with a savoury edge and fine tannin.

Learn About Myattsfield Vineyard

Myattsfield Vineyard is a beautiful boutique winery nested in the Perth Hills region.

The original Myattsfield was the family farm in Camberwell, London. Joseph Myatt established a market garden on land owned by the Minet family. Over 175 years on, as descendants of Joseph, we’re now here in the Bickley Valley, Western Australia. The Bickley Valley is merely a small sub-region of the Perth Hills Wine Region, spanning from Chittering to Jarrahdale. This area was acknowledged for its distinct set of geographical and topographical influences impacting the wine quality in the region by the Geographic Indications Committee. It was granted GIC status as a gazetted wine region in 1999.

Who owns Myattsfield Winery? Owners Josh and Rachael are devoted to producing premium red and white wines with a personal, hands on approach. Their wines continue to gain accolades through the industry, with the likes of Ray Jordan ranking Myattsfield a top winery of the Perth Hills. We are pleased to offer you their extensive array of award-winning wines. Expect your palate to be taken on a journey of flavours, with some lesser known, but amazing varietals rarely found like Durif.

The Darling Scarp protects the Valley from maritime influences, making the climate more continental than Mediterranean in nature. This corresponds to cold nights and warm days. Valley walls reduce direct daylight hours, resulting in the daily maxima arriving later in the day and for a shorter period. At 300-350m above sea level, the Bickley Valley is 2-3 degrees cooler than Perth. Amongst the undulating terrain and aspects, site plays an important role in the valley. Elevated, northern-facing slopes produce significantly warmer sites better suited to dry red varieties. Southern-facing, lower sites produce cooler variations capable of producing better whites and lighter reds, while elevated, western-facing sites are ideal for fortified production.
