Myattsfield Methode Traditionelle Sparkling 2020

The 2020 vintage of Myattsfield Vineyard Methode Traditionelle Sparkling, scheduled for release in December 2024, is a testament to sparkling wine craftsmanship.

Crafted in the esteemed Methode Traditionelle style, this cuvée exemplifies the art of blending with 51% Chardonnay and 49% Pinot Noir. The secondary fermentation, skillfully executed in the bottle, results in a sparkling wine of exceptional quality and finesse.

Colour, Aromas, and Smell: The wine presents a refined and inviting appearance in the glass. Its aromatic bouquet reveals a harmonious blend of delicate, elevated yeast-driven notes, offering a nuanced and enticing profile that promises a sophisticated experience.

Flavours, Tastes, and Palate: On the palate, the Myattsfield Sparkling 2020 provides a pristine and invigorating sensation, marked by clean, refreshing acidity. The flavour profile includes vibrant lemon curd with subtle nuances of yeast autolysis, contributing to a layered and engaging taste experience. This sparkling wine is an ideal aperitif, characterized by its dry and crisp nature that invigorates the senses and leaves a lasting impression of freshness.

Food Matching: Perfectly suited for an array of elegant dishes, this sparkling wine pairs exceptionally well with freshly shucked oysters, enhancing the overall dining experience. Its versatile profile also complements a variety of seafood and light appetizers, making it a delightful choice for sophisticated gatherings.

Learn more about Myattsfield …

Myattsfield Vineyard is a beautiful boutique winery nested in the Perth Hills region.

The original Myattsfield was the family farm in Camberwell, London. Joseph Myatt established a market garden on land owned by the Minet family. Over 175 years on, as descendants of Joseph, we’re now here in the Bickley Valley, Western Australia. The Bickley Valley is merely a small sub-region of the Perth Hills Wine Region, spanning from Chittering to Jarrahdale. This area was acknowledged for its distinct set of geographical and topographical influences impacting the wine quality in the region by the Geographic Indications Committee. It was granted GIC status as a gazetted wine region in 1999.

Expect your palate to be taken on a journey of flavours, with some lesser known, but amazing varietals rarely found like Durif.

The Darling Scarp protects the Valley from maritime influences, making the climate more continental than Mediterranean in nature. This corresponds to cold nights and warm days. Valley walls reduce direct daylight hours, resulting in the daily maxima arriving later in the day and for a shorter period. At 300-350m above sea level, the Bickley Valley is 2-3 degrees cooler than Perth. Amongst the undulating terrain and aspects, site plays an important role in the valley. Elevated, northern-facing slopes produce significantly warmer sites better suited to dry red varieties. Southern-facing, lower sites produce cooler variations capable of producing better whites and lighter reds, while elevated, western-facing sites are ideal for fortified production.
