From the Margaret River region, this is a Spanish/French version of the famous Rhône blend with Tempranillo taking the place of Mataro (or Mourvèdre, if you want to be trendy). From the Happs and Jindawarra vineyards, this is really good value drinking. Opaque maroon, the nose is full of red fruits, chocolate, delicatessen meats and warm earthy notes. A medium weight style with sleek tannins through to a firm finish, which lingers well. Now for three to four years. A new take on an old blend which works really well here.
