The 2024 Singlefile Great Southern Rosé is a sophisticated, dry rosé with a Provence style, crafted from the Italian Sangiovese varietal.
This rosé is a testament to elegance and balance, offering vibrant flavours and a refreshing character. Produced by Singlefile Wines, a renowned winery in Western Australia’s Great Southern region, this release perfectly marries fruitiness, acidity, and finesse. On the palate, it delivers a crisp and lively sensation, showcasing ripe red berries like strawberries and cherries, complemented by hints of citrus zest and a touch of minerality. The vibrant acidity imparts a refreshing zing, while its medium-bodied profile ensures a smooth and satisfying mouthfeel.
Harvested on the 1st and 28th of February, the 2024 Great Southern Rosé grapes were gently destemmed and crushed directly into the press, with around two hours of skin contact before a gentle press. The free-run juice was handled oxidatively and left on full solids for two days before rough racking and the introduction of indigenous yeast to start fermentation. After a slow, cool fermentation, the wine was rested on its lees in stainless steel tanks for four months before being prepared for bottling.
