What I’m Drinking Right Now
If you have ever chatted to me on a delivery run or sent me a message asking what I am actually drinking at home, this is the honest version. With so many great boutique WA wines on the site, picking favourites should be impossible, but I still find myself circling back to a handful that just work.
These are the bottles I am genuinely enjoying right now and happily recommending when people ask for something personal rather than just what is popular. I have broken them into rosé, bubbles, white and red so it is easy to scan, easy to shop and hopefully useful if you are stuck on what to open next.

Gilberts Rosé 2025
If you like rosé that is pure fun and dangerously easy to drink, this is it. It has that strawberries-and-cream charm that makes one glass feel very temporary, but it still has enough shape to feel like a proper wine rather than just something cold and pink.
- Bright, juicy strawberry fruit with a gently creamy feel
- Soft acidity that refreshes without turning sharp
- Easy to enjoy, but still flavoursome enough to stay interesting
- Well chilled, but not icy cold
- Great with prawns, chicken, salads or a sunny late afternoon
- Also ideal for that “just one glass” moment that rarely ends there

Myattsfield Méthode Traditionnelle Rosé 2023
This is the bottle I reach for when I want bubbles, but I want something with a bit more charm and character than the usual safe sparkling choices. It feels celebratory without being overdone, and it has that proper traditional-method depth that lifts it above the everyday.
- Proper méthode traditionnelle texture and detail
- Dry, elegant and a little different from the standard sparkling lineup
- Turns an ordinary night into something that feels a bit more special
- Friday night “we made it” bubbles
- Brunch, birthdays or last-minute celebrations
- When someone says “bring something nice” and I want to actually do that

Tripe Iscariot Kroos Chenin Blanc 2023
Choosing one favourite white is a bit cruel, because the site is stacked with good options. But if I have to pick the bottle I keep coming back to at the moment, it is this Chenin Blanc. It feels fresh, textured and quietly interesting without ever becoming hard work.
- Chenin Blanc is one of the most food-friendly white styles around
- There is freshness, texture and interest all in the one glass
- It feels distinctive without becoming too clever for its own good
- Roast chicken, creamy pasta, seafood and Thai food
- A glass while cooking dinner when you want something better than ordinary
- Anyone who says they want a white with a bit more personality

Castelli Estate Pinot Noir 2023
When the weather warms up, my red-wine drinking swings hard toward Pinot Noir, and this is one I genuinely enjoy. It has character, shape and freshness, with enough savoury detail to keep it interesting and enough drinkability to make it very easy to come back to.
- Sour cherry notes in the best possible way
- Spice, earth and a slightly crunchy, lively feel
- Plenty of personality rather than just generic smooth red softness
- Serve it cool, around 16°C
- Not cold from the fridge and definitely not warm room temperature
- That slight chill keeps it vibrant, refreshing and much more drinkable
What Are You Drinking Right Now?
I always enjoy hearing what people are loving at the moment, whether it is one of these bottles or something completely different. It is one of the best parts of running a WA wine business — hearing what is actually being opened, poured and enjoyed in real homes.
