Tasting Notes

Colour: Deep, dark and dense, seriously impressive in the glass.
Aromatics: Dark berries, plum, savoury florals and a hint of spice, with a rhubarb-like brightness lifting the nose.
Palate: Plush and richly fruited with violets, plums and red currants, finishing with a gentle dark chocolate note. (Winemaker comment.)
Finish: Long, polished and balanced, with fine tannins and lingering dark fruit.

Sub-region: Wilyabrup
Vineyard: Allan Rock Vineyard

• 16 days skin contact
• 10 months maturation in French Taransaud barriques, 27% new
• Bottled as a vegan-friendly wine (contains sulphites)

Cellaring: Drinks beautifully now and will hold for 8–10 years.

Technical: pH 3.61 | TA 5.9 g/L | RS 0.11 g/L
Alcohol: Listed as 13.8% (8.3 standard drinks).

You still get the deep colour and dark-fruit generosity Malbec is loved for, but Wilyabrup can add freshness, perfume and a more refined tannin line.
