Plush, polished Malbec

The Cape Domaine Malbec of 2024 is a Wilyabrup-grown Margaret River red that hits that rare sweet spot: inky colour and dark-fruit intensity, but still elegant and lifted. Extended skin contact and French oak maturation build a rich core of plum, mulberry and blackberry, while the aromatics stay fresh and perfumed with violet and savoury floral notes.

This is not a heavy-handed Malbec. It’s layered, balanced and beautifully composed, with fine tannins and a long, lingering finish. A small-batch, premium feel at a very drinkable level, and it has already cleaned up in the show circuit too.

Why You Will Love It

  • Wilyabrup Malbec with genuine depth, but real lift and freshness
  • Extended skin contact for colour and structure, without losing elegance
  • French Taransaud barriques add polish, spice and dark chocolate nuance
  • Brilliant now with food, and will cellar comfortably for years

FAQ 🧐

What does Malbec from Margaret River taste like?
You still get the deep colour and dark-fruit generosity Malbec is loved for, but Wilyabrup can add freshness, perfume and a more refined tannin line.

Is this a big, heavy red?
It’s rich and intense, but the finish stays balanced and lifted rather than bulky.
