Tasting Notes

• Aromas: A complex nose of mulberry, pepper, spicy vanillin oak, and lifted floral notes.
• Palate: A ripe combination of blackberry and plums, with spicy aniseed and black cherry on the mid-palate. The finish is long and smooth, with hints of mocha and fine tannins.
• Finish: Lingering mocha and tannin-driven elegance.

Technical Terms Explained:

• Mulberry & Blackberry: These are dark, sweet berries that give the wine its rich fruit profile. Mulberry tends to add a deep sweetness, while blackberry brings a bit of tartness.
• Spicy Vanillin Oak: Vanillin is a compound found in oak that adds a sweet, vanilla-like aroma. The spice comes from the wood, contributing a warm, comforting flavour.
• Aniseed: A flavour reminiscent of licorice, providing a subtle spice and sweetness in the wine.
• Mocha: The flavour of coffee and chocolate combined, often coming from oak aging, adding richness and depth to the finish.
• Tannins: These are natural compounds found in grape skins, seeds, and stems that give the wine structure. Fine tannins feel smooth and not too harsh on the palate.
