Blackcurrant | Mocha |

Peos Estate Four Kings Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 is a powerful yet beautifully balanced expression of estate-grown Manjimup Cabernet. Awarded 95 points and five stars by Vino Masters, it delivers deep blackcurrant, blackberry and dark plum layered with cedar, dried herbs, mint and subtle chocolate. Generous cassis fruit fills the palate, supported by integrated oak and firm, ripe tannins that give the wine structure without overwhelming its fruit.

Dark berries, toasted mocha and sweet spice continue through a long, savoury finish, creating a Cabernet that is generous enough to enjoy now but structured enough for further cellaring.

The Four Kings Story

The Four Kings range is named after brothers Vic, John, Kon and Chris Peos.

The Macedonian-born Peos family has called Manjimup home for more than 90 years. In 1996, the four brothers came together to create their dream vineyard as a legacy to their late father, Jim Peos, and grandfather, P.Y. Peos.

Their family traditions remain an important part of the winery. Peos Estate follows a minimal-intervention philosophy designed to preserve the natural characteristics of its estate-grown grapes and their Manjimup origins.

Winemaking

Peos Estate follows a minimal-intervention philosophy, allowing the quality of its estate-grown fruit and regional character to remain central to the finished wine.

The wine’s oak is well integrated, contributing cedar, mocha, coffee and gentle spice rather than dominating the blackcurrant and dark berry fruit.

Detailed information about the exact barrel type, percentage of new oak and maturation period for this vintage has not been publicly provided, so those details have deliberately not been assumed.

Serving & Cellaring

Serve: Approximately 16°C to 18°C.

During warm Perth weather, room temperature may be too warm for Cabernet. Place the bottle in the fridge for around 20 minutes before serving if required.

Decant: Decant for approximately 45 to 60 minutes. This will help the blackcurrant, cedar, mocha and herbal aromas become more expressive while allowing the tannins to soften.

Cellar: Wine Pilot recommends drinking the 2022 vintage through to 2034. Store it somewhere cool, dark and temperature stable.

Drink it sooner if you prefer vibrant blackcurrant and blackberry flavours. Further cellaring should allow the fruit, tannins and oak to become softer and more integrated.
