Bright ~ Textural ~ Aromatic

A bold step forward for WA wine – this is the first DNA-verified Albariño grown and bottled in Western Australia. Originating from Rías Baixas in Spain, Albariño has found a vibrant new home in the Lower Swan, bringing with it bright aromatics, citrus-driven elegance, and savoury complexity. Seven years of research and vineyard development culminates in this thrilling debut.

Why You Will Love It

  • Citrus-Driven Freshness – Lemon, lime, grapefruit and pear glide across the palate.
  • No Oak, Just Purity – Stainless steel ferment and no lees aging keeps it crisp and clean.
  • High Acidity, Great Balance – Beautiful structure thanks to natural acid retention.
  • Bright & Textural – Delicate marzipan and creamy stone fruit notes linger gently.

Tasting Notes

Aromatics: Fresh citrus zest, ripe pear, subtle marzipan and white flowers.

Palate: Composed and pure, with zesty lemon-lime, crisp grapefruit, and hints of pear, finishing with savoury herbs and a gentle salty tang. A chalky texture and long, tangy tail of acidity provide lift and refreshment.

Style: Aromatic, dry and zippy with fine texture and vibrancy – Mediterranean in soul, Australian in identity.

Accolades

Ray Jordan – 94 Points

It’s good to see this Spanish variety making an appearance in Western Australia. It’s such a popular variety in north-western Spain. The aroma opens with a lovely citrus, minerally floral note, and even traces of musk stick. The palate is light, but there’s an intensity here, and it is beautifully balanced and precise. This is an exciting development for Sittella, and a beautiful expression of this variety.
