• Appearance – Deep, inky purple-black with a glass-staining edge.
• Aroma – Ripe blackberries, dark cherry, blackcurrant, and hints of mocha, cedar, and violet.
• Palate – Medium-bodied but generous, with flavours of plum, dark berries, cocoa and clove. Fine, velvety tannins carry through to a long, plush finish.

Lagrein is a dark-skinned grape variety from northern Italy, known for producing deeply coloured, aromatic wines with plush tannins and vibrant acidity. It’s incredibly rare in Australia – especially in WA – making this a distinctive, collector-worthy drop.

How is it different from Shiraz or Cabernet?
Lagrein combines the plush fruit of Shiraz with the acid structure of Pinot and the rustic charm of an Italian red. It’s less predictable, more savoury, and perfect if you’re chasing something truly different.
