About LS Merchants
LS Merchants was established by winemaker Dylan Arvidson with the belief that wine should be interesting and full of personality without becoming overly complicated or serious.
From its home in Cowaramup, in the heart of the Margaret River wine region, the winery has developed a diverse collection that includes both familiar Western Australian varieties and more adventurous small-batch releases.
While the labels and presentation have a contemporary, playful character, the wines are grounded in quality fruit, thoughtful vineyard selection and careful winemaking.
Exploring vineyards across Western Australia
Although LS Merchants is based in Margaret River, its winemaking story extends across several of Western Australia’s leading wine regions.
The team works with trusted growers and carefully selected vineyards in regions including Margaret River, Frankland River, Pemberton, Manjimup, the Blackwood Valley and the Swan Valley.
This approach allows each wine to reflect the characteristics of its grape variety, vineyard and growing region. Some wines show the structure and concentration associated with Margaret River, while others capture the fragrance, acidity and elegance of cooler southern vineyards.
Rather than forcing every wine into the same house style, LS Merchants allows the fruit and vintage to guide how each wine is made.
Creative winemaking with a focus on drinkability
LS Merchants takes a flexible and minimal-intervention approach in the winery, making decisions according to the individual vineyard, variety and vintage rather than following a fixed formula.
Natural yeast fermentation may be used where appropriate, while maturation, fining and filtration decisions are tailored to each individual wine.
Traditional winemaking techniques are combined with experimentation, curiosity and a willingness to explore different varieties and regions. However, the wines are never made to be unusual simply for the sake of it.
Fruit character, balance, texture and drinkability remain at the centre of the LS Merchants range.
