Peter and Jane Bailey took the helm at Woody Nook Wines in 2000, and under their stewardship, the winery has thrived. With over 300 awards, including 11 prestigious Trophies, more than 40 Gold medals, and over 50 Silver medals, Woody Nook Wines consistently shines at Australia’s most esteemed wine competitions. These accolades reflect the winery’s commitment to producing top-quality wines that stand out on the national and international stage.

Welcoming a New Era in Winemaking

In October 2020, Woody Nook Winery welcomed Digby Leddin as its chief winemaker, following the retirement of Neil Gallagher. Neil, the son of the original founders Wynn and the late Jeff Gallagher, continued with the winery after the Baileys’ acquisition, contributing to its ongoing success. Digby Leddin brings extensive experience from his previous role at Riverbank Estate in Caversham, where he achieved notable acclaim for his vintages. His career spans over 20 years, including a significant tenure at Lamont’s Winery in the Swan Valley, where he progressed from Viticulturist and Cellarhand to Winemaker. With Digby at the helm, Woody Nook continues its tradition of crafting wines of exceptional quality.
